General Pre + Post Care
To achieve the best possible results from your treatments, proper pre- and post-care is essential. Following these guidelines will help ensure your skin stays healthy, heals properly, and maintains its radiant results. Whether you're preparing for a facial, body treatment, or laser procedure, adhering to these instructions will optimize your experience and enhance the effectiveness of your treatment.
General Pre + Post Care
This is not an exhaustive list and specific pre + post care details will be automatically emailed to you 5 days prior to your appointment.
Actives
/Exfoliation
To ensure the best results and minimize the risk of irritation, we recommend avoiding active ingredients and any exfoliants such as retinoids, exfoliating acids, and prescription creams for 3-7 days prior to any facial treatment. For prescription creams, it’s advised to refrain from using them for at least 7 days before your appointment. This allows your skin to be in the most optimal condition, reducing sensitivity and ensuring a more comfortable and effective treatment experience.
Active ingredients such as (but not limited to): Salicylic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Retinol, Tranexamic Acid, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Benzoyl Peroxide, etc.
Exfoliants: Scrubs, Dermaplaning, Polishes, etc.
Sun Exposure
It is essential to avoid sun exposure before and after treatments such as chemical peels, Fractora, microneedling, laser hair removal and IPL to protect your skin and ensure optimal results and avoid complications such as hyperpigmentation. Sunburned or recently sun-exposed skin can be more sensitive and prone to irritation, making treatments like facials, microneedling, and IPL less effective or even unsafe. For the best recovery and to reduce the risk of complications, we recommend staying out of the sun for at least 7-10 days before and after your treatment. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a 50 SPF to protect your skin and maintain the benefits of your treatment.
Specific sun exposure details vary dependant on a case by case basis.
Cold Sores
Active cold sores or any open sores on the body are contraindications for all treatments, as they can spread the infection and cause further complications. Cold sores are highly contagious, and undergoing treatments such as facials, microneedling, or laser procedures while you have an active outbreak can exacerbate the condition, prolong healing, and increase the risk of spreading the virus. For your safety and the safety of others, we recommend postponing any services until the area has fully healed.
